Drugstore Haul

Excuse the lack of cute backgrounds in my pictures.

I'm currently out of town and staying at my boyfriend's apartment, which looks exactly as bachelor-y as you would imagine. The combination of the dreary weather outside and the poor lighting inside doesn't lend itself to fantastic photography, but I'm trying to manage.

I went into Walmart yesterday with a list and a boyfriend who thought this really was "just going to take a minute." He actually picked out a color or two for me and then spent a half hour trying to figure out what foundation shade he'd be. It was sort of hilarious watching Captain Doctor Boyfriend Person struggle between Ivory and Vanilla. I came out with the stuff on my list... and a few more things. I was hoping they'd have the new spring Revlon Lip Butters, which they didn't. That didn't stop me from picking up a few new ones anyways!

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in 110 Ivory, Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in 010 Fair, Revlon Colorstay Base Coat, Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover, Maybelline The Flash Clean Makeup Removing Lotion, Revlon Lip Butters in Sweet Tart and Tutti Frutti, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart/Valentine, Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry, Covergirl Eye Shadow in Tapestry Taupe.

I decided to pick up the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation and Pressed Powder after hearing tons of vloggers and bloggers rave about them. My skin has gotten significantly dryer over the past year, and my beloved Maybelline Dream Matte Powder seems to be too matte and powdery on my skin now. I'm hoping this powder works better on my now normal-to-dry skin! I'll definitely be doing a review on these after I've had a few weeks to play around with them!

I also picked up a few more summery lip shades. I got Revlon Lip Butters in Sweet Tart (a bright, warm, hot pink) and Tutti Frutti (a tangerine orange). I also finally picked up a Just Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart/Valentine, a beautiful cool hot pink.

While I was on a lip product binge, I also got another Maybelline Baby Lips in the color Cherry, a sheer cool red.

Baby Lips in Cherry, Sweetheart/Valentine, Sweet Tart, Tutti Frutti

I have been loving my Revlon Top Coat, and decided to try out the Revlon Colorstay Base Coat as well. I've heard good things, so I'm hoping this helps elongate the wear of my nailpolish!

I finally caved and decided to try Covergirl Eye Shadow in Tapestry Taupe. When I was middle school, I owned a ton of CG shadows, but the formula was super powdery, chunky, and overall terrible. I have hesitated to try one despite the good things I've heard in the past couple of years (I'm guessing they've reformulated since then), but decided that $3 wasn't a huge investment if I didn't like it. If I like this one, I might go back and pick up Champagne and the Shimmering Sands Trio.

I've used the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover for years, and was almost out so I picked up another one. I got a sample (and a $1 off coupon!) of Maybelline The Flash Clean Makeup Removing Lotion in this month's Lucky and decided to pick up a bottle. I'll probably do a review of this as well!

Has anyone tried the Nearly Naked foundation or powder? Thoughts? I hope you guys are having a great start to your weekends. (I know I am!) I'll probably be posting a "What's in my Travel Makeup Bag?" post tomorrow or Monday, so keep an eye out for that!

XOXO Samantha

    1. I know, right? lol At least he's a good sport about my makeup "hobby" :) And seeing the lip butters on your blog is what made me aware of their existence - now I HAVE to have at least a couple of them!!! Which ones are your favorites?

    2. oh man, that's a tough one...I'd have to say Sorbet and Wild Watermelon...I don't have a lot like them in my collection and I think they're really flattering on my fair skin. So far I've only seen the new line at Target stores, that might be your best bet for finding them!
